Applesauce Cake

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 C Flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 C soft sweet butter
1 C sugar
1 egg
1 C raising
12 oz applesauce (1 1/2 C)
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp dry ginger
1 Cup chopped nuts -- Optional

Oven 300F 25 minutes 9" X 13" pan

Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla; beat in dry
ingredients and applesauce alternately until just combined. Don't overmix.
Bake as directed.
