Sweet or Savory Cornmeal Madeleines

1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup sugar -- granulated or light brown
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup whole milk
1 egg
1/4 cup unsalted butter -- melted
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Brush madeleine pan with melted butter.
Whisk together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add, milk,
egg, and melted butter. Mix batter thoroughly.
Fill each well of prepared pan with about 1 tablespoon of batter. Bake for
10 to 12 minutes or until browned.
Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
