Buckwheat Pie

5 medium potatoes
1 large onion
salt and pepper -- to taste
4 cups bread dough -- (prepared - or pizza dough)
1 cup fine buckwheat grits
2 tablespoons margarine
1 clove garlic -- ( or more, to taste)

1.Boil potatoes in not too much water. When done, add buckwheat grits and
let them steam off the stove. Turn the stove off. Fry onions in margarine
until translucent, and mix with the potato mixture. Mash with a potato
masher, add salt and pepper to taste.

2. Butter a pie plate and spread the bread dough as for pizza. Add the
potatoe filling, bringing dough up to the centre. Seal.

3. Bake immideatley - do not allow dough to rise - 350 until done, about
30 to 45 mintes. While hot spread with butter or margarine, rub all over
with clove of garlic or add more for your taste, and press down with t
plate. Let ret for a few minutes.

4. Cut in wedges and serve with sour cream or butter while its hot. This
receipe has been in the family fo 90 years.

Yield: 4-6 servings
